Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. This day gives you the chance to rest after your long journey and settle in. You can explore the bustling streets of Thamel or relax at your hotel, soaking in the first impressions of Nepal’s vibrant capital. Kathmandu is a melting pot of cultures, where ancient traditions meet modernity. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be arranged where you will be briefed about the upcoming trek and expedition.

Trek and Expedition Preparation Day

Today is dedicated to preparing for your upcoming trek and expedition. After breakfast, we will review the essential gear and equipment, ensuring you are fully prepared for the journey ahead. If you need any last-minute supplies, Kathmandu’s shops are well-stocked with trekking gear. This day also allows you to explore some of the cultural wonders of the city, such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, or Swayambhunath. It’s a relaxed but essential day before the adventure begins.

Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m) – 30 mins Flight & 4-5 hrs. Trek

Early in the morning, we take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. The flight is an exhilarating experience, offering incredible views of the Himalayas. Upon landing at Lukla, we begin our trek with an easy hike to Phakding. The trail takes us through beautiful villages, alongside the Dudh Koshi River, and offers glimpses of local life. As we trek through pine forests, we encounter suspension bridges that provide spectacular views. After a 4–5-hour trek, we arrive at Phakding, where we settle in for the night.

Trek from Phakding to Namche (3,440m) – 5-6 hrs. Trek

Today, we head toward Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa town known as the gateway to Everest. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several high suspension bridges along the way. As we ascend, the terrain becomes more challenging, with steep inclines leading to Namche. The final push to Namche is tough but rewarding, offering the first glimpses of Everest in the distance. Namche is a bustling hub with cafes, shops, and breathtaking mountain views. We spend the night here, allowing our bodies to begin acclimatizing to the altitude.

Rest Day in Namche – Acclimatization and Exploration

Acclimatization is key to a successful expedition, and today is a rest day in Namche. We will take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, which offers panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. This hike helps with acclimatization while providing some incredible photo opportunities. After the hike, you can explore Namche Bazaar, visiting local markets and museums. The Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery offer fascinating insights into the local culture and mountaineering history. This rest day helps prepare us for the higher altitudes to come.

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,860m) – 5-6 hrs. Trek

Leaving Namche, we continue our journey towards Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. The trail offers awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan giants, including Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After a relatively easy start, the trail descends to Phunki Tenga before a steep uphill climb to Tengboche. Upon reaching Tengboche, we will visit the monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, and take in the spiritual atmosphere. The surrounding views of the snow-capped peaks are truly breathtaking, making this a memorable day on the trek.

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m) – 5-6 hrs. Trek

Today, we trek through the beautiful rhododendron forests and across the Imja Khola River on our way to Dingboche. As we ascend, the landscape changes, becoming more rugged and barren. Dingboche is known as the “Summer Valley” of the region, and upon arrival, we are greeted by stone walls that protect crops from cold winds. The village offers stunning views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the Island Peak. It’s also a key stop for acclimatization, and we settle in for the night at this picturesque village.

Rest Day in Dingboche (Hike up to 5,050m) – 4-5 hrs. Hike

On another crucial acclimatization day, we will hike up to Nagartsang Peak (5,050m) to further adjust to the altitude. The hike offers magnificent views of Makalu, Lhotse, and the surrounding peaks, and helps our bodies adapt to the thinner air. After returning from the hike, we spend the rest of the day in Dingboche, where you can relax or explore the village. This day is essential in preparing us for the high-altitude trekking and climbing ahead, ensuring that we are well-acclimatized before heading higher.

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m) – 5-6 hrs. Trek

Today, we trek from Dingboche to Lobuche, following a trail that offers stunning views of the Khumbu Glacier and the surrounding peaks. The path gradually ascends, passing the memorials of climbers who lost their lives on Everest, a sobering reminder of the challenges of high-altitude mountaineering. As we approach Lobuche, the views of Nuptse and Pumori become more prominent. The thin air and higher elevation make today’s trek more challenging, but Lobuche provides a cozy resting place before our push to Everest Base Camp.

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,160m) – 3-4 hrs. Trek

The trail from Lobuche to Gorakshep takes us through the rough terrain of the Khumbu Glacier. This is a short but demanding trek due to the high altitude, and the views along the way are nothing short of spectacular. Upon reaching Gorakshep, we rest before our final push to Base Camp. Gorakshep is the last settlement before Everest Base Camp and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. After a brief rest, we prepare for the challenging climb to Pumori Base Camp the following day.

Pumori Climbing Period (7,145m)

For the next 16 days, we will focus on climbing Pumori, a 7,145-meter peak known for its technical difficulty and breathtaking views of Everest and the surrounding mountains. During this time, we will acclimatize, establish higher camps, and make our summit attempt. Pumori is a serious mountaineering challenge, requiring technical skills and determination. The climb includes steep sections of rock, ice, and snow, and requires roped climbing in some areas. Successfully summiting Pumori is an incredible achievement for any climber, offering unparalleled views from the top.

Trek from Pumori Base Camp to Pangboche (3,860m) – 6-7 hrs. Trek

After the intense climbing period, we begin our descent from Pumori Base Camp, retracing our steps back down the Khumbu Valley. We descend to Pangboche, a village known for its ancient monastery and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The trail is easier on the way down, and the lower altitude allows for more comfortable trekking. Pangboche offers a chance to relax and reflect on the achievements of the past weeks, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayas.

Trek from Pangboche to Namche (3,440m) – 6-7 hrs. Trek

Today, we continue our descent, trekking from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar. The trail passes through lush forests and crosses the Imja Khola River before climbing back up to Namche. As we descend, the oxygen levels increase, and the trek becomes more manageable. Namche Bazaar, with its lively atmosphere, is a welcome sight after the long days of trekking and climbing. Upon arrival, you can relax, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a hot shower at your lodge. We spend the night in Namche, preparing for the final trek to Lukla.

Trek from Namche to Lukla (2,860m) – 6-7 hrs. Trek

The final day of trekking takes us from Namche back to Lukla, following the Dudh Koshi River and passing through the lush forests and villages we encountered on the way up. The trail is mostly downhill, but there are a few final uphill sections before reaching Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, we celebrate the successful completion of our trek and expedition. It’s a time to reflect on the incredible journey, the challenges faced, and the breathtaking experiences along the way. We spend the night in Lukla before our flight back to Kathmandu.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400m) – 30 mins Flight

We take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, enjoying one last glimpse of the Himalayas from the air. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can rest and enjoy the comforts of the city. The afternoon is free for you to explore the markets, visit cultural sites, or simply relax. In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of the trek and expedition, sharing stories of the adventure.

Extra Days in Kathmandu

These are extra buffer days in case of flight delays from Lukla or weather-related issues during the trek. If not needed for contingencies, you can use these days to explore more of Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage, visit nearby towns like Bhaktapur and Patan, or go shopping for souvenirs. Our team can help arrange any additional activities you may wish to do. This is also a good time to unwind and reflect on the incredible journey you have just completed in the Everest region.

On your final day in Nepal, our representative will transfer you to the airport for your international flight. As you leave Kathmandu, you will take with you, unforgettable memories of the Pumori expedition, the Sherpa culture, and the majestic Himalayas.
