Through our experience, we discover that the mentioned period is the appropriate time for Himlung climbing. The Mountain is suitable for the climbers who want to experience first time in the high-altitude mountaineering or are preparing for the 8000-meter peaks. Himlung climbing is not that much technical besides few short steep sections which are mostly secured by the Expeditions high mountain Team. It is a beautiful course of alpinism from its Base Camp to the Summit. The Base Camp is at 4850 meters above sea level. It is at the upper end of one of the pastures belonging to Phu village. In principle, three high camps need to fix before reaching the Summit. Camp I at 5450 meters, Camp II at 5800 meters and Camp III at 6350 meters. Welcome to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,429ft)

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and explore the vibrant city. There will be a welcome briefing in the evening to go over the upcoming expedition.

Expedition Preparation and Briefings

Today, you will attend an expedition briefing at the Department of Tourism, where permits and necessary paperwork will be finalized. This day is also for last-minute shopping and checking gear to ensure everything is ready for the climb. Enjoy the bustling atmosphere of Kathmandu as you prepare for your journey.

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (823m/2,700ft) – 8 hours

An exciting drive takes you from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the gateway to the Annapurna region. The journey offers scenic views of rivers, valleys, and terraced fields, giving you a glimpse of rural Nepal. You’ll spend the night in a lodge, preparing for the trek ahead.

Drive from Besisahar to Koto (2,610m/8,563ft) – 5-6 hours

Today, you’ll take a jeep from Besisahar to Koto, a remote village surrounded by mountains. The road winds through lush forests and narrow valleys, offering stunning views of the Himalayas. Overnight at a lodge or camp in Koto.

Trek from Koto to Meta (3,560m/11,680ft) – 7 hours

Your trek begins today, following a trail along the Nar Phu Valley. You’ll cross suspension bridges and trek through dense pine forests before ascending to Meta, a high-altitude village with incredible views. Camp or stay in a local lodge overnight.

Trek from Meta to Phu-Gaon (4,200m/13,780ft) – 7 hours

The trek from Meta to Phu-Gaon is challenging but rewarding, with stunning views of high-altitude landscapes and ancient Buddhist monasteries. The remote village of Phu-Gaon is nestled among the mountains and is rich in Tibetan culture. Overnight in a lodge or camp.

Rest and Acclimatization at Phu-Gaon

Today is dedicated to rest and acclimatization. You’ll have the opportunity to explore Phu-Gaon, visit its ancient monasteries, and interact with the local Tibetan community. This day is essential for adjusting to the high altitude.

Trek from Phu-Gaon to Himlung Base Camp (4,850m/15,912ft) – 6 hours

The trek to Himlung Base Camp offers rugged beauty as you climb higher into the Himalayas. The base camp is located at a breathtaking altitude, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. This is where the true adventure begins as you prepare for the ascent of Himlung Himal.

Climbing Period for Himlung Himal (7,126m/23,345ft)

Over the next two weeks, you will embark on the challenging ascent of Himlung Himal. This includes several acclimatization rotations between camps, ultimately leading to the summit attempt. The climb offers a thrilling mix of technical challenges and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Preparation and Packing for Departure

After the successful summit, the day is dedicated to packing and preparing for the return journey. Celebrate your achievements and relax after the grueling climb.

Trek from Base Camp to Phu-Gaon (4,200m/13,780ft) – 6 hours

Today, you’ll retrace your steps back to Phu-Gaon. The descent is much easier, and you’ll have a chance to take in the views once more. Rest at a tea house in the village, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Trek from Phu-Gaon to Meta (3,560m/11,680ft) – 5 hours

Continuing the descent, you’ll trek from Phu-Gaon to Meta. The trail offers scenic views and a sense of accomplishment as you make your way back through the Nar Phu Valley. Overnight at a lodge or camp in Meta.

Trek from Meta to Koto (2,610m/8,563ft) – 5 hours

oday, you’ll trek from Meta to Koto, enjoying the final days of the trek. The lush forests and mountain scenery provide a perfect backdrop as you make your way to the village. Overnight in Koto.

Drive from Koto to Besisahar (823m/2,700ft) – 8 hours

After breakfast, you’ll take a scenic jeep ride from Koto to Besisahar. This drive-through rugged landscape offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. You’ll stay overnight in Besisahar, marking the end of the trekking portion of the journey.

Drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu – 7 hours

Today, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible adventure. In the evening, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel or simply rest after the long journey.

Free Day in Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

A free day in Kathmandu allows for some sightseeing, shopping, or just relaxing. In the evening, a farewell celebration dinner will be held, complete with a cultural program, to mark the successful completion of your expedition.

Final Departure

On your final day, you’ll be transferred to the international airport for your departure. Leave with unforgettable memories of your Himlung Himal adventure, ready to share stories of your achievements with friends and family.
